Privacy Policy

DailyBread Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DailyBread Development ("DailyBread," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, protects, and deletes information when you use DailyBread.

DailyBread is initially operated primarily for users in the United States. Users outside the United States should review the laws applicable to them before using the service.

1. Information We Collect

Discord Account Information

When you authenticate using Discord, DailyBread may receive and store information such as:

  • Discord user ID;
  • Discord username;
  • Discord display name;
  • Discord avatar information;
  • Discord server/guild IDs;
  • Discord channel IDs;
  • Relevant roles or permissions;
  • Account-to-server relationships; and
  • Other information necessary to provide the requested Discord integration.

Server Information

Depending on your authorization and the DailyBread integration, we may process:

  • Server/guild IDs;
  • Channel IDs;
  • Relevant permissions;
  • Administrative status;
  • DailyBread integration status;
  • Webhook configuration; and
  • Server-related DailyBread configuration.

User-Generated Content

DailyBread may process content you intentionally submit through its features, including:

  • Embed text;
  • Embed configuration;
  • Scripture references;
  • User-created messages;
  • Links;
  • Images or image references;
  • Mentions; and
  • Messages sent through DailyBread's webhook functionality.

DailyBread does not operate as a general-purpose archive of Discord messages.

OAuth Information

DailyBread may temporarily process Discord OAuth access tokens when required to authenticate your account or perform an authorized operation.

DailyBread intends to discard temporary OAuth access tokens after they are no longer required.

DailyBread does not intend to retain OAuth access tokens indefinitely.

Webhook Credentials

Discord webhook credentials necessary for DailyBread to deliver messages may be stored in encrypted form.

Webhook credentials are treated as sensitive information and are not intended to be publicly exposed.

Delivery Information

DailyBread may retain information about messages sent through its services, including information necessary to determine whether a delivery succeeded or failed.

Delivery records are generally retained for approximately 30 days after delivery.

2. Why We Use Information

DailyBread uses information to:

  • Authenticate users;
  • Maintain accounts;
  • Determine server access;
  • Verify administrative permissions;
  • Display available servers and channels;
  • Configure and manage DailyBread integrations;
  • Create and manage webhooks;
  • Deliver requested content;
  • Provide Bible search and Scripture features;
  • Maintain security;
  • Diagnose failures;
  • Prevent abuse;
  • Maintain backups;
  • Respond to user requests;
  • Process deletion and export requests; and
  • Operate and improve DailyBread.

3. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

DailyBread does not intentionally request unnecessary information such as:

  • Government identification;
  • Payment card information;
  • Passwords for your Discord account;
  • Your Discord password;
  • Precise physical location; or
  • Unrelated personal information.

Do not submit sensitive personal information through DailyBread unless specifically necessary for a feature.

4. Third-Party Services

DailyBread relies on third-party providers.

Discord

Discord provides authentication, Discord server information, bot functionality, and related services.

Discord has its own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

DailyBread does not control Discord's data practices.

Cloudflare

Cloudflare provides infrastructure and security-related services, including Cloudflare Tunnel and related web services.

Cloudflare may process network and security information when users access DailyBread.

Cloudflare maintains its own privacy documentation and data practices.

IONOS

IONOS provides infrastructure hosting for DailyBread.

YouVersion

YouVersion services may provide Bible content and Bible-related functionality.

YouVersion's applicable developer terms and licensing requirements govern content obtained through its platform.

API.Bible

API.Bible may provide Bible translations and Scripture data.

API.Bible requires applications to follow the applicable license and copyright requirements for each translation. Its current documentation also states that copyrighted Scripture must receive appropriate attribution and that cached content must be refreshed at least every 30 days.

PostgreSQL

PostgreSQL is used as DailyBread's database technology.

Supabase

Supabase may be used as backup storage and supporting infrastructure.

Third-party services may independently process information according to their own policies.

5. Data Storage

DailyBread currently uses:

  • An IONOS-hosted environment;
  • PostgreSQL;
  • Cloudflare services;
  • Supabase for planned backup storage; and
  • Other third-party services required to operate specific features.

DailyBread attempts to keep databases inaccessible directly from the public internet.

Database credentials and service secrets are intended to be stored securely rather than exposed in public source code.

6. Backups

DailyBread intends to maintain periodic backups of relevant PostgreSQL data.

Backups may be stored through Supabase.

Backups are intended to occur approximately every 7 days.

Backup copies may persist for longer than active application data because backup deletion may occur on a separate schedule.

7. Retention

Account Data

When you disconnect your DailyBread account, associated account data is intended to be deleted within 7 days.

Server Data

When DailyBread is removed from a server or the relevant server relationship ends, associated server data is intended to be deleted within 7 days.

Delivery Records

Delivery records are intended to be retained for approximately 30 days after delivery.

Security Records

DailyBread may retain records necessary for security, abuse prevention, fraud prevention, incident investigation, legal compliance, and protection of the service.

Security-related information may therefore be retained differently from ordinary account data.

8. Data Deletion

You may request deletion of information associated with your DailyBread account by contacting:

Deletion may not immediately remove information that must be retained for:

  • Security;
  • Legal compliance;
  • Fraud prevention;
  • Abuse investigations;
  • Dispute resolution;
  • Backup integrity; or
  • Other legitimate operational purposes.

Where retention is no longer necessary, applicable information will be deleted according to DailyBread's retention process.

9. Data Export

You may request an export of records associated with your DailyBread account.

Exports may include:

  • Account information;
  • Discord account information stored by DailyBread;
  • Server associations;
  • Channel associations;
  • User-related configuration;
  • Webhook metadata;
  • Delivery records;
  • User-generated DailyBread content; and
  • Other records associated with your account.

Exports will not intentionally include:

  • OAuth secrets;
  • Access tokens;
  • API keys;
  • Database credentials;
  • Encrypted secrets;
  • Internal security mechanisms;
  • Information belonging to unrelated users; or
  • Other information that would create a security or privacy risk.

10. Security

DailyBread uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information.

These measures may include:

  • Encrypted storage of webhook credentials;
  • Restricted database access;
  • Environment-based secrets;
  • Restricted server access;
  • Automated backups;
  • Access controls; and
  • Security monitoring and maintenance.

No system can guarantee absolute security.

11. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for protecting access to your Discord account and any systems you use to access DailyBread.

Do not share authentication credentials, webhook credentials, or other sensitive information unnecessarily.

12. Children's Privacy

DailyBread requires users to be at least 13 years old, subject to higher minimum-age requirements where applicable.

DailyBread does not knowingly permit children below the applicable minimum age to use the service.

13. Privacy Requests

Privacy requests should be sent to:

Requests may include:

  • Data access;
  • Data export;
  • Data deletion;
  • Correction requests;
  • Questions about data handling; or
  • Other privacy-related concerns.

We may need to verify the account associated with a request before disclosing or deleting information.

14. Changes to This Policy

DailyBread may update this Privacy Policy as its services, infrastructure, or legal obligations change.

The current version will identify its effective or updated date.
